Environmental Mission Statement

The members of Bed & Breakfasts Inn Mt. Washington Valley are committed to continually evaluating our operations employing more environmentally friendly methods while providing the best service to our guests.  We believe that each initiative we pursue with the help of our guests, no matter how small, helps to preserve the natural beauty of New Hampshire for future generations.   

As the first Bed & Breakfast Inn association in New Hampshire committed to preserving a green environment, Bed & Breakfast Inns Mt. Washington Valley individually have become certified by the New Hampshire Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Program and the Maine Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Program.

Here are just some of the ways we maintain an eco-friendly environment:

• Recycle glass, aluminum, plastic, and paper
  • Use recycled paper for printing, reuse paper for scrap paper, or print on two sides of the paper
  • Use linen napkins or use napkins made of recycled material
  • Use energy efficient bulbs and turn out lights in guest areas when we do not have guests or when they leave the inn
  • Replace old appliances with new Energy Star efficient models
  • Buy local products and services
  • Compost kitchen food waste
